In 2014 I started SRT Concepts LLC after leaving another training company I established in 1993. SRT Concepts represents tactics, techniques and procedures a good SWAT operator should know. I believe responsible gun owners should possess this knowledge to protect themselves and family from harm.

Introduction to Defensive Handgun Course is designed to provide new shooters with core skills to operate a handgun safely, accurately and with confidence. Students will learn situational awareness and personal safety practices to increase awareness and commit to action. This "Hands On" 4 hour course includes a 50 round course of fire while being coached by experienced SRT instructors. This course meets the requirements of Maine's Concealed Handgun Permit Law. Course starts at 9am and ends at 1pm. 3 Hours in classroom, 1 hour on range. Cost: $95

Handgun 1.0 is a 7 hour course that is ideal for the person that wants to become comfortable handling their handgun. We all have the desire to feel safe in our homes, workplace and social settings with our family and friends.The first step to achieve a safe environment is to develop the correct mindset and awareness of your surroundings. Defensive Handgun 01 will develop your safe gun handling skills, proper defensive shooting fundamentals and marksmanship skills. In addition SRT instructors will train you in personal safety practices so you can Be Your Own Hero. This course meets the requirements for Maine's Concealed Handgun Permit Law. Cost: $125

Defensive Handgun 2.0 is an 7 hour course to enhance skills learned in Defensive Handgun 1.0 and addresses different responses to a threat within close distances. Students will review tactical shooting fundamentals, survival mindset and effects of stress. Topics will include close encounter techniques, multiple firing positions, use of cover and moving off the X. Shooting drills involve a two handed grip and an introduction to one handed shooting. Students will engage their targets from a concealed carry position, ready gun and compressed ready gun positions. The course of fire is designed to simulate real world encounters. Participants will be guided through this course at a speed that is comfortable to the individual. Cost: $125

Defensive Handgun 3.0 If you own a handgun for home defense or concealed carry you should train one handed techniques with both gun hand and support hand. This knowledge is important if you suffer an injury to a hand in an attack, have a preexisting injury, shielding a loved one or carrying an item in your hand. In this advanced Tactical Pistol course students will learn a variety of techniques to manipulate the handgun through the firing and reloading sequence, as well as, clearing malfunctions. Topics will also include multiple firing positions, movement and use of cover. Cost: $125

Low Light Defensive Handgun Students will learn several flashlight techniques preferred by law enforcement and military. Students will learn: low light tactical concepts, threat assessment, use of ambient light and weapon management in low-light.
