 Defensive Handgun 2.0 is an 7 hour course to enhance skills learned in Defensive Handgun 1.0 and addresses different responses to a threat within close distances. Students will review tactical shooting fundamentals, survival mindset and effects of stress.  Topics will include close encounter techniques, multiple firing positions, use of cover and moving off the X. Shooting drills involve a two handed grip and an introduction to one handed shooting. Students will engage their targets from a concealed carry position, ready gun and compressed ready gun positions. The course of fire is designed to simulate real world encounters. Participants will be guided through this course at a speed that is comfortable to the individual.

Equipment List

·         Handgun (380 or greater caliber, slide has to lock to rear)
·         Belt and holster (no cross draw, shoulder holsters or ankle holsters)
·         3 magazines or 2 speed loaders
·         350 rounds for handgun
·         Hearing and eye protection
·         Dress for outdoor range conditions
·         Baseball type hat
·         Sun screen/bug spray
·         Lunch & fluids

Tuition: $185             Classes are held at Scarborough Fish & Game Club unless otherwise stated.
