Description:
Defensive Handgun 1.0 (7 hours) is the ideal starting point for new and developing shooters who want to go learn basic defensive shooting skills. This course focuses on mindset, preparedness, skills, tactics, and gear, teaching you how to confidently and effectively use your handgun in real-world defensive situations. Students will build a strong foundation in firearm safety, handling, and marksmanship while learning practical techniques for personal defense.
What You’ll Learn:
- Use of force laws & carry laws
- Safe firearm handling and operation
- Developing a defensive mindset
- Drawing from concealment
- Accurate shooting
- Real-world tactics for personal safety
- Gear selection and setup
- Handgun (380 or greater caliber, slide has to lock to rear)
- Belt and holster Not Required (No Cross draw, shoulder holsters or ankle holsters)
- 3 Magazines or 2 speed loaders
- 200 rounds for handgun
- Hearing & eye protection
- Dress for outdoor range conditions
- Baseball type hat
- Sun screen/bug spray
- Lunch & fluids
